Happy B'Day to a Great Man

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A RARE GEM!

Hey people, what more can i say? the greatest African of all time, who has suffered for others to have freedom today in South Africa, i guess by this time you must have known who im talking about, but if you still dont know his name is: Nelson Mandela.

Today, 18th July 2007 marks his 89th year of existence in this world in which he spent 27 years of it at Robben Island Prison for no reason all because he was fighting the injustice/apethied period in South Africa, so in this case he was sentenced to life in proson, but regained freedom in 1990 and became the first ever Black President of South Africa.

Here's a quote from Madiba:

"I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die. "

You know, this guy right here (Mandela), is among my mentors, because his struggles and success makes him a total package, you know when someone is struggling, and then triumphs at the end of the day, he's like a hero, because he has made something out of nothing, you know what i mean.

A Brief Biography:

Mandela's words, "The struggle is my life," are not to be taken lightly.

Nelson Mandela personifies struggle. He is still leading the fight against apartheid with extraordinary vigour and resilience after spending nearly three decades of his life behind bars. He has sacrificed his private life and his youth for his people, and remains South Africa's best known and loved hero.

Mandela has held numerous positions in the ANC: ANCYL secretary (1948); ANCYL president (1950); ANC Transvaal president (1952); deputy national president (1952) and ANC president (1991).

He was born at Qunu, near Umtata on 18 July 1918.

His father, Henry Mgadla Mandela, was chief councillor to Thembuland's acting paramount chief David Dalindyebo. When his father died, Mandela became the chief's ward and was groomed for the chieftainship.

Mandela matriculated at Healdtown Methodist Boarding School and then started a BA degree at Fort Hare. As an SRC member he participated in a student strike and was expelled, along with the late Oliver Tambo, in 1940. He completed his degree by correspondence from Johannesburg, did articles of clerkship and enrolled for an LLB at the University of the Witwatersrand.

In 1944 he helped found the ANC Youth League, whose Programme of Action was adopted by the ANC in 1949.
Mandela was elected national volunteer-in-chief of the 1952 Defiance Campaign. He travelled the country organising resistance to discriminatory legislation.

He was given a suspended sentence for his part in the campaign. Shortly afterwards a banning order confined him to Johannesburg for six months. During this period he formulated the "M Plan", in terms of which ANC branches were broken down into underground cells.

By 1952 Mandela and Tambo had opened the first black legal firm in the country, and Mandela was both Transvaal president of the ANC and deputy national president.

A petition by the Transvaal Law Society to strike Mandela off the roll of attorneys was refused by the Supreme Court.

In the 'fifties, after being forced through constant bannings to resign officially from the ANC, Mandela analysed the Bantustan policy as a political swindle. He predicted mass removals, political persecutions and police terror.

For the second half of the 'fifties, he was one of the accused in the Treason Trial. With Duma Nokwe, he conducted the defence.

When the ANC was banned after the Sharpeville massacre in 1960, he was detained until 1961 when he went underground to lead a campaign for a new national convention.

Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK), the military wing of the ANC, was born the same year. Under his leadership it launched a campaign of sabotage against government and economic installations.
In 1962 Mandela left the country for military training in Algeria and to arrange training for other MK members.

On his return he was arrested for leaving the country illegally and for incitement to strike. He conducted his own defence. He was convicted and jailed for five years in November 1962. While serving his sentence, he was charged, in the Rivonia trial, with sabotage and sentenced to life imprisonment.

A decade before being imprisoned, Mandela had spoken out against the introduction of Bantu Education, recommending that community activists "make every home, every shack or rickety structure a centre of learning".

Robben Island, where he was imprisoned, became a centre for learning, and Mandela was a central figure in the organised political education classes.

In prison Mandela never compromised his political principles and was always a source of strength for the other prisoners.

During the 'seventies he refused the offer of a remission of sentence if he recognised Transkei and settled there.

In the 'eighties he again rejected PW Botha's offer of freedom if he renounced violence.
It is significant that shortly after his release on Sunday 11 February 1990, Mandela and his delegation agreed to the suspension of armed struggle.

Mandela has honorary degrees from more than 50 international universities and is chancellor of the University of the North. He was inaugurated as the first democratically elected State President of South Africa on 10 May 1994 - June 1999

Nelson Mandela retired from Public life in June 1999. He currently resides in his birth place - Qunu, Transkei.

NEWS FLASH!

Finally! He's been nabbed.... just like i said two days back, that he;s the biggest of all of them and would be in the fishing net of EFCC very soon, but like its said that a prophet's words never go down the drain without happening... here it is, Ex-Governor Nnamani Has been arrested.

This is a very good lesson for the newly elects, so that when they are swallowing this time, they will take it easy, because this time around there wont be time to let them vomit, because it will choak* them in thier mouths.......

Anyway.. its 03:37AM and i am not asleep, maybe because i slept during the day and cant sleep this time, but then i am happy for such a great news i heard this morning, so i will close my laptop now and try to sleep again and see what happens.

See yaa... and thank yuo for those comments, i really appreciate...

TIME TO VOMIT WHAT YOU HAVE SWALLOWED!

Its time for vomitting, all those Governors who thought that the state allocation funds for the maintainance and development of state affairs was thiers to swallow anyhow they want and be confidence of the immunity cover they have as being governors and what have you have dashed away because now they're the most scared people in nigeria now........they dont sleep in thier houses anymore and they cant travel... and they have begun proposing "deals" with the authorities to allow them not to be charged and then return some of thier "loots", but i guess thats not a catcher story for my main man Ribhadu.... He doesnt agree to any deal and he;s charging them one by one, and just yesterday the big blow was the arret of 4 governor and the better news of it all, is that 3 of there has been charged to court today, and do you know the sweetest or rather the juicest part of the story is that they have all be remanded to stay in prison custody (imagine that!) till the court sit again on mmonday.

Number one is this man called Saminu Turaki former governor of Jigawa state, which is a not-too-big state in the northern Nigeria, has just swallowed a whooping sum of N33billion + $20million + Empty Treasury........people can you imagine that? someone stealing that much and still got re-elected as a Senator inorder to get cover from government and not be arrested, because i bet he knows that he's rather the biggest thief amongst them all, but my people to say the truth, i dont really know what to type again, because our own ex-presido has been touted to worth over N303billion from 2003 - 2007 alone, from nothing to all these, help me thik about this..... i dont know how they expect that we accept all these.

Number two of the thieves is also from the North, i bet everybody knows he's a criminal right from day-1 after the London scenerio and some funds being returned by the officials in the UK, so Joshua Dariye's offence is well known and it didnt surprise me when the judge said he should be remanded in Prison, because he's a BIG THIEF.....

The third on the arrested criminals is our too-know-my-right estranged gorvernor of Abia State, that i can say is not that currupt, but for the fact that he fouth with Baba althrough his stupid and wicked administration he obviously will be in the list of the first ones to be disgraced, but to my surprised he wasnt arraigned in court today, maybe he's trying to sort out his case, but my dear loyal businessman turned gorvernor swallowed N3billion, so i think he will definitely be the cheapest thief, though he claims to have built a business empirer before assuming office, so maybe thats why he stole a little, but you know one funny thing, he's being charged alongside his mother (she's on heels)..... Nothing person no go see ooohh!

The last but not the list amongst the ones arrested is my dear little Jolly Nyame former governor of Taraba... the same story also, misconducts of funds and bla bla bla...... but to me, i will arrest everybody from a-z in that administration including baba himself, but you cant blame Ribhadu, he cant arrest a man who put food on his table and OBJ also tricked him and extended his regime with another 4 years and a promotion in police force barely a month before he (Baba) vacated office, so basically, its a bribe and the EFCC boss definitely wouldnt understand this trick with all his intelligence.

So out of 36 Governors, are you telling me that it is only 4 of them that are currupt? But i can quickly jump and answer you that question or any small kid around the globe who watches BBC or CNN will definitely answer you that question with a big NO. But i know one of them who is rather richer than Baba, Dangote mention whoever..... this man is from the east and have been in talks with EFCC for a return of loot for freedom, but i guess they're still battling it, thats why he's not in this batch of the ist released, but i must assure you that he cant escape the next list, because his is very very obvious that he's a criminal and his name goes by: Chimaroke Nnamani.....

I will keep you people abreast of whats happening, cos i willd efinitely be moinitoring the event of things and did i forget to tell you that our dear new presido supports the arrests.... so if he does, why wont i speak about it openly, and that is for those of you who think that my mouth is becoming too big for my face....................

I'll leave you with a quote from Fela:

“I no be gentleman at-all, at-all, I be African-MAN, original!”
